Shush is designed with privacy at its core. We collect minimal data, and what we do collect is used only to improve your experience.
What We Collect
- App Preferences: Your noise type, brightness, volume settings (stored locally on your device)
- Device Information: Device type and iOS version (for optimization and bug fixes)
- Subscription Status: Managed by Apple through the App Store
What We DON'T Collect
- Personal identifying information (name, email, phone)
- Location data
- Contact lists, photos, or other personal data
- Audio recordings from your microphone
Microphone Access (Room Calibration)
Our room calibration feature requires microphone access to analyze ambient noise in your environment. This is completely optional.
Data Security
- All app preferences are stored locally on your device
- Room calibration data is stored locally and never transmitted
- We use industry-standard encryption for any data transmitted to our servers
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties
Subscription & Payments
Subscription processing and management is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Your payment information is never shared with us. Apple's Privacy Policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy
Your Rights
- Access your data stored in the app
- Delete your data by deleting the app
- Opt out of analytics via iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics
- Revoke microphone access via iOS Settings → Shush → Microphone
- Cancel your subscription anytime through the App Store
Children's Privacy
Shush does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. While the app includes a "baby sleep" mode, this feature is designed for parents to use for their infants. The app does not collect any data from or about children.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- Right to know what personal information is collected
- Right to know whether personal information is sold or disclosed
- Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (Note: We do not sell personal information)
- Right to deletion of personal information
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
